Every year, when The Dead came through, we always got huge influx of Deadheads camping out in the back field on the cheap.

Of all the people I encountered on that job, the Deadheads were always the nicest, kindest people I came into contact with. They were nice to us peon employees, they cleaned up after themselves (which could not be said for other paying guests), they were a general pleasure to be around.

I always looked forward to the weekend they were in town - they made work a little nicer for a few days.Carihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05808278832117289063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3111064072849484956.post-5305960124181651922011-04-01T19:48:54.203-04:002011-04-01T19:48:54.203-04:00Sweet post. I remember realizing you were both deadheads and thinking that you HAD to connect. While I won't say I totally "get" it, I do get it, and I love how much fun y'all have!Burgh Babyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09123901504643963583noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3111064072849484956.post-46162036720983469222011-04-01T01:11:18.440-04:002011-04-01T01:11:18.440-04:00I think I first figured out that you were one of u...I think I first figured out that you were one of us a couple years ago, when I offered up an old Stanley Theater tape for a contest run by Burgh Baby. And once I figured out that you hadn't been to a real show for a while, it became a goal -- get Gina to a show.

Why? Not everyone gets this music, but this who do understand the power it has. I can't go for more than a few months without a serious craving for it, both for the immediate impact it has and for the smiles it puts on my face for weeks after.

I am thrilled to hear that Wednesday's show did for you what I had hoped. I had a great time with you and your husband and I hope we can do it again soon.Uncle Crappyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18416382112724275005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3111064072849484956.post-71982421511360781342011-03-31T23:10:12.453-04:002011-03-31T23:10:12.453-04:00Dance, sister, Dance! Oh, and I dance like an idiot but have a blast doing so, the critics be damned.Scribehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01914750911571382791noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3111064072849484956.post-63879870740296182142011-03-31T22:43:04.480-04:002011-03-31T22:43:04.480-04:00Oh, how I envy you. I've spent the first five years of my boys lives trying to create another generation of Deadheads. My heart aches for *that* feeling again. The freedom, the lack of judgment, the kindness. Now I've got to go find all my old tapes!!!!Janicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16692668817237974079noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3111064072849484956.post-54701223558262479492011-03-31T20:56:36.823-04:002011-03-31T20:56:36.823-04:00I went to a two-day Dead concert in Sacramento onc...I went to a two-day Dead concert in Sacramento once. We were all sitting on a hillside waiting for the concert to open when someone found a set of keys and said "Hey, did anyone see who was sitting here?"

"Yes," i replied, "He was wearing a tie-dyed t-shirt."

Oh i just thought i was soooo funny.menohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18065283682414369608noreply@blogger.com
